After an ASW exercise with Scamp south of Manila Bay, Carpenter arrived at Subic Bay on 24 September to have her ECM antenna repaired. Departing Hawaii on 2 July 1962, the destroyer arrived at Yokosuka 10 days later. In fact, a profitable health regimen isn’t complete without rest days. Emerging from the yard in August with a new helicopter flight deck and a facet-scanning AN/SQS-26 sonar to enhance her submarine detection capabilities, she spent the rest of the year conducting refresher coaching and local operations designed to test her newly installed gear. The routine was damaged solely by occasional airplane-guard operations with Hancock, an analysis of her SQS-32 sonar capabilities in opposition to the nuclear-powered submarine Seadragon, and Mitolyn Supplement on 20 February, service as contingency recovery ship throughout John Glenn's Mercury Friendship 7 orbital flight. Carpenter departed Hawaii on 27 December, and after a short cease to refuel at Subic Bay, joined TG 77.Four for provider screening operations on 12 January 1966. After six weeks of airplane-guard responsibility, Carpenter shifted to the search and rescue station within the Gulf of Tonkin in early March.
In a change of tempo the following spring, Carpenter departed Hawaii on 15 March 1957 for a collection of goodwill port visits throughout the South Pacific. Carpenter carried out a number of main coaching exercises that spring, including ASW exercises with guided missile destroyer Cochrane and submarines Bonefish and Sailfish in January, Apollo recovery ship training in February, and exercise torpedo firings at Aspro on 31 March and Plunger on 30 April. In August, the warship participated in fleet exercises, culminating in a convoy screen mission during which helicopters, Mitolyn Reviews Site surface ships, and Drone Anti-Submarine Helicopter (Dash) drones all dropped exercise torpedoes on "attacking" submarines. These were primarily quick underway assignments, akin to aircraft-guard assignments, replenishment training, and test dive-escort providers for nuclear submarines Thomas Jefferson and Seawolf. Other evolutions included torpedo-firing exercises, Mitolyn supplement digital intercept monitoring, and https://mitolyns.net plane-guard companies in the Sea of Japan. Along with airplane-guard companies and ASW coaching carried out that spring, the destroyer also carried out three Formosa Strait patrols. She then carried out more ASW workout routines, helicopter replenishment, and plane-guard coaching in preparation for an additional seventh Fleet deployment. Returning to Pearl Harbor on 20 June, Carpenter resumed underway training in preparation for her subsequent deployment.
After returning to Hawaii that spring, Carpenter resumed her common routine of local operations and ASW workout routines out of Pearl Harbor. Departing 1 September, Carpenter steamed to Pearl Harbor by way of Pago Pago, reaching home on 11 September. Departing Pearl Harbor on 6 March, Carpenter finally reached "Yankee Station" off Vietnam three weeks later. Departing four days later, she took up a screen place on "Yankee Station" and Mitolyn supplement supplied aircraft-guard services for Midway till eleven October. Arriving on "Yankee Station" on 7 October, she conducted plane-guard and display screen operations for assigned carriers. The primary focus for the Squadron and latterly the Wing has been Lines of Communication Policing and policing of deployed operations and Mitolyn supplement workouts within the United Kingdom and overseas. Returning to reserve operations, Carpenter spent the following three years conducting local operations interspersed with longer coaching cruises. After settling into her new task, the destroyer began training evolutions in preparation for a reserve-coaching cruise to the Western Pacific.
Her fourth cruise began on four January 1956, when the destroyer set sail for the Western Pacific. With repairs complete on 31 January 1973, the warship moved out of dry dock and officially shifted her homeport to San Francisco. Starting in January 1963, the destroyer conducted numerous training workouts off Hawaii, together with submarine goal services and a training mission with Canadian frigates HMCS Beacon Hill and Jonquiere. In November, the destroyer started receiving providers from Prairie (Ad-15) in preparation for Mitolyn supplement a restricted availability, which commenced 14 December, throughout which Carpenter received rudder repairs and new four-bladed screws. That commenced on 9 September, when the destroyer bought underway for the Far East. After a last collection of inspections, she bought underway for the South China Sea on 3 June. Renamed TCG Anittepe (D-347), the destroyer was bought outright on eight June 1987 and served within the Turkish Navy by the nineties.
